Alison Young is an Information Technology graduate from Griffith University where she achieved a First Class Honours degree in 2006. She has been involved in a number of girls in IT programmes and was also on the organising committee for the 2006 Qualitative Research in IT (QualIT) conference sponsored by Griffith. Alison's interest in linux and the open source movement has been steadily growing over the last couple of years and she hopes to become more heavily involved in spreading the word about the benefits and usefulness of open source to everybody. The paper presented at lca07 will be Alison's first conference paper presentation.
