Open Day is the perfect holiday event for families, students and young people to play with great technologies and learn about Open Source. You'll find over 40 exhibitions, talks, competitions and meet some great people and projects along the way. We have a wonderful line-up of technologies including movie making, 3D virtual gaming, robots, solar panel cars, segways and digital music exhibitions just to name a few. This is a day for you to get your hands dirty with some of the best technologies available today!
Although the day is free, you will need to register for free food and your chance to win one of several prizes. Please see the very bottom of the page to register.

Where, when, how much?
Where: Mathews Pavilions (E24) - University of NSW, Kensington
When: 3pm - 8:00pm Thursday the 18th January, 2007 with prizes being announced at 7pm
Cost: Free
Food: Dinner and drinks will be available at 6pm
Freebies: The first 100 registered visitors will receive a free bag with goodies! There will also be other giveaways at the stands from information, software and other goodies.

The Demos
There will be about 40 exhibits total. Please make sure you check it prior to attending. Final schedule details will be posted on January Wednesday the 17th. Meanwhile below is the venue map and all the confirmed exhibits. Check it out and also the talk schedule to ensure you have a fantastic Open Day at linux.conf.au! Remember, every demo has Open Source involved, so you can go home and use the software yourself, or even get involved in a project if it really takes your fancy.
