Scott James Remnant

Scott James Remnant is an Ubuntu Core Developer, and the primary author of Upstart. HIs primary focus for Ubuntu is working on the boot sequence, and hardware configuration and activation. As a member of the Ubuntu Technical Board, he has a guiding hand in the development of Ubuntu. Employed by Canonical Ltd as an Ubuntu Development Manager, leading one of the two teams within the company that work directly on the distribution.

Involvement with Free Software and Open Source goes back many years; as well as Ubuntu, Scott is one of the authors of the Planet aggregator well known to anyone within our community, and while a Debian maintainer (now retired from the project) maintained GNU Libtool and dpkg. He once ran a website called segfault.org, but hopes that everyone has forgotten about that now.
