Newcomer's Tutorial

linux.conf.au featured this event for the first time in 2008, and is back by popular demand for 2009.

First time at LCA? Wanting to know more about the conference before the week swings into action? The Newcomer's Tutorial brings together our newest delegates with our most experienced delegates for a chance to find out more about the folklore and traditions of linux.conf.au, and how to get the most out of the conference.

The Newcomer's Tutorial will be held on the Sunday afternoon, with details to be announced shortly.

Speakers Dinner

An invitation is extended to our speakers and the mini-conf organisers to attend our Speakers Dinner, to be held at an undisclosed location on Tuesday night. An evening to socialise and enjoy a quiet meal in beautiful surroundings, the dinner promises to be a unique and memorable occasion.

Penguin Dinner

This year, linux.conf.au brings a touch of class to the Annual Penguin Dinner. A full three course banquet awaits, with lots of choice from the best food Tasmania has to offer at Hobart's Wrest Point Convention Centre in Sandy Bay.

PDNS

The Professional Delegates Networking Session is a great opportunity to rub shoulders with others working within the Free and Open Source business sphere. This year sees an informal gathering in a summer garden environment, the perfect place to mingle and spruik your latest achievements.

Conference Closing Celebrations

All good things come to an end, but why not celebrate anyway! Friday night's entertainment will consist of a friendly informal get together to reminisce about all the fun we had. :)

Open Day

Fun for all the family! A chance for the public to come and see what open source software is all about. This free event for both conference delegates and the people of Tasmania will showcase some of the fun and exciting things that can be done with F/OSS. Coupled with interesting presentations and the always entertaining lightning talks this promises to be a great day for all.
