Tasman Rooms - Wrest Point

As a way to celebrate Free and Open Source Software (F/OSS) and showcase some of the linux.conf.au conference's exciting content to the people of Hobart, Open Day will be held in the Tasman Rooms at Wrest Point.

This free event will feature a wide range of exhibits and activities ranging from open-source gaming to participatory Creative Commons clip art creating; from discussions about open standards' place in government to using open-source to bring learning tools to remote communities; and from Linux-powered robot bears to sporty cars decked out with open-source powered gear.

Open Day will also host a meeting of the Tasmanian Linux Users Group, where members from across the state will hold an open discussion about how people in rural environments can be a part of the greater open-source community.
