  • New Committee Elected

    The elections for the Linux Australia Committee of 2008 have been completed and the results were announced yesterday at the AGM. Thankyou to all those who stood.

    The new Committee is as follows:

    • President: Stewart Smith
    • Vice President: Steve Walsh
    • Treasurer: Anthony Towns
    • Secretary: Terry Dawson

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

    Voting will commence for the 2008 Linux Australia Executive Committee this morning at 00:00 UTC which translates to the following:

    WA: 9am
    SA/NT: 10:30am
    Vic/NSW/Tas: 11am
    QLD: 10am

    Voting will finish at 00:00 UTC on the 31st of January. Results will be announced at the Linux Australia AGM.

    Good luck to all those who are standing, and remember, if you are unsure as to who you wish to vote for, ask the candidates questions.

    Nominations for the Linux Australia Committee are now open.

  • Tickets for selling fast!

    Australia's premier open source event,, has closed early bird registrations and is on track to selling out, with 2/3 of the tickets already sold.

    Each year software developers and users flock from around the globe to attend, Australia's annual technical conference about Free and Open Source Software.

    "Based on the registrations so far, tickets could sell out prior to the event," said Conference Director Donna Benjamin. "We have a hard limit of 500 tickets this year."
